Colombia Memories Special
COLOMBIA TRAVEL
Explore Colombia from its fluvial soul: an exclusive journey along the Magdalena River
Hiking trails
What if we told you there’s a Colombia you can only discover by navigating?
Welcome to a unique experience: a 3 days journey on a 30 meters artisan canoe, with double beds, signature cuisine on board and stops in towns that still don’t know mass tourism. You’ll navigate the majestic Magdalena River, from Mompox to Cartagena, living a journey of nature, culture and pure humanity.
This trip takes you to the country’s heart: you’ll sleep under tropical stars, learn to cook with country women, listen to cumbia rhythms in Afro-Colombian communities, and explore wetlands in local canoes. More than a tour, it’s an immersive cultural and ecological experience that redefines the meaning of travel.
Ideal for those seeking fluvial tourism, authentic connection and real sustainability.
You sleep aboard the Canoa in queen-size beds, take a nap in one of the hammocks, observe the river’s wildlife, and enjoy delicious meals together at our large table. Along the river, we make stops in small villages, visiting local communities. They welcome us with various activities such as cooking classes, Cumbia dance performances, bike tours into the countryside, or excursions with small handmade fishing boats.
Travel Highlights
→ Sleeping on a luxury artisan canoe: nature and rest on board
Your floating room will be a traditional 30-meter canoe adapted with queen-size beds, mosquito nets and private curtains. Imagine falling asleep cradled by the Magdalena River, surrounded by natural sounds, with no artificial lights or walls. It’s a unique and sustainable way to stay while you connect with Colombia’s fluvial heart.
→ On-board cuisine: local gastronomy from farmers and fishers
Our chefs cook with ingredients purchased directly from local producers at each stop. Discover regional flavors like viudo de pescado, cassava with suero, or dulce de corozo, while supporting circular economies. All fresh, all authentic, all Colombian.
→ Real immersion in riverside communities
Every day we go ashore to spend time with the residents of towns like Zambrano or Correa. We share cooking classes, cumbia dances, bike rides through rice fields and excursions in traditional fishing canoes. You don’t just visit you participate, learn and connect.
→ Wetlands and biodiversity by canoe: the Magdalena’s other face
You’ll explore the Pijao Wetland and the María la Baja Wetland with local fishers who share their ancestral knowledge. You’ll spot herons, ibises, turtles and, if you’re lucky, manatees. A hidden paradise for biodiversity lovers.
→ River route from Mompox to Cartagena: living history at every bend
From the colonial city of Mompox, a World Heritage Site, to vibrant Cartagena de Indias, you’ll travel the same Dique Canal the Spanish opened in the 16th century. A journey that connects past and present at every curve of the river.

Organizzazione impeccabile!Posted on Google Valentina MartinengoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nel complesso un servizio attento e affidabile, che ci ha fatto sentire seguiti durante tutto il viaggioPosted on Google abramo lorenzo albrigiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
